Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 3/4 cups cake flour
5 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3. Gradually add the dry ingredients (flour, salt) to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
4. Stir in vanilla extract.
5. Pour batter into a prepared Bundt or loaf pan.
6. Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 60-75 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before flipping onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
You can substitute all-purpose flour for cake flour, but reduce the amount by 2 tablespoons. For a richer flavor, use buttermilk instead of regular milk (reducing the amount to 3/4 cup and adding 1/4 teaspoon baking soda).
