Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
2. Whisk together melted butter and sugar. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
3. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
5. Beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla.
6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
7. Dollop cheesecake batter over brownie layer.
8. Pour remaining brownie batter over cheesecake layer and swirl batters together.
9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
10. Cool completely and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, use dark chocolate cocoa powder. Add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
